Helms Completes Fellow Certification

Dr. Marilyn Helms, dean of the Wright School of Business, encourages students to earn certifications and to continue developing their skills. She's leading by example.

Helms recently completed the "fellow" certification through The American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS) Fellow Program. APICS is a strategic partner to global corporations and individuals at all career levels. The APICS Fellow designation is awarded to a group of professionals who share their knowledge with others through presenting, publishing, teaching and participating in volunteer activities that promote the APICS Body of Knowledge.

Helms volunteers as chair of the Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) Committee at the APICS headquarters in Chicago where she meets twice a year with other academicians, industry practitioners and industry consultants to develop certification exam questions and materials for individuals seeking to build skills and earn visibility for their certification.

"'Lead Boldly' is our motto in the WSOB, and I hope my continued credentialing in key industry organizations motivates our 867 Wright School of Business students to do the same," Helms said.
